One Week Chartered Sail in Exuma Bahamas

We just wrapped up our 1-week chartered sail along the Exuma cays in Bahamas. This was the second part of our trip after our stay in Atlantis Bahamas.

Out of all the family trips we have taken, I really can't think of anything better.

In case you can’t load our Bahamas travel video above, you can watch it on YouTube here.

Note: All photos and videos on this trip were taken from iPhone and drone (as I accidentally left my camera bag in the Seattle airport). See my usual camera gear)

Our highlights include:

➡️ feeding iguanas 3 times! Our skipper said he never knew anyone else did this so many times

➡️ feeding swimming pigs

➡️ feeding all kinds of fish

➡️ swimming with nurse sharks

➡️ exploring Thunderball Grotto (the James Bond cave) and pirate caves. Unfortunately I don’t have any underwater pictures or camera devices (the one I prepared was stranded in the Seattle airport with my entire camera bag)

➡️ chasing turtles and stingray

➡️ hiking on lone beaches only accessible during low tide

We absolutely loved our shoeless hikes.

➡️ watching stunning sunrise and sunset on our boat. Everyday!

➡️ Throwing our kids in the ocean so they can learn swimming

That proved to be more fun than effective. They still don’t know how to swim, but that’s OK.

➡️ trying out all kinds of iPhone photo features including long exposure for night shots of starry sky or Milky Way, and getting pleasantly surprised

This is the first trip over the last 15 years I haven't used a DSLR camera, as I accidentally left my camera bag with 2 full frame mirrorless cameras (Canon EOS R5 and Sony A7iii) and 4 lenses at Seattle airport. Luckily they found it when we were in Bahamas. I can't wait to share more pictures as we travel more in the Caribbean.
