We made a short visit to Phoenix (Scottsdale to be specific), and made a small stop at Mcdowell Sonoran Conservancy.

It was just Orion and me, as Apollo was on hiking strike and insisted to stay in the car!

I can't say I'm a big fan of cactus, but seeing so many different kinds is an incredible and eye opening experience.

Here are some giant and different kinds we saw in Galapagos nearly 3 months ago.

Candelabra cacti that have many long arms, seem to be the ones we see most common in Saguaro National Park. They look slightly different though.

The Prickly Pear cacti, in pear shape, are the most common ones we saw on Santa Cruz Island in Galapagos.

I only saw the yellow Lava Cactus, on one of my boat trips to Bartolome Island, 3 hours by boat from Santa Cruz.

I'm not sure where and when we will see these giant cacti again. They certainly look extraordinary, and have outlived us, our parents and even grandparents.
