July 4th Fireworks In 2015

Photographing July 4th fireworks in San Francisco has become my annual photography tradition for the past 8-9 years.  Although it is not my typical landscape photo, I just want to share the foggy fireworks that was kind of special in San Francisco.

Most of the following photos are using the same setting – ISO200, 145mm, f/9, 1.6sec

Equipment used

  • Canon 5D Mark III
  • Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L II IS lens
  • Gitzo travel tripod
  • Really Right Stuff BH-40 ballhead
  • Phottix Aion Wireless Timer and Shutter Release.  The timer and shutter release are not essential but my personal preference – I have explained this in this article
