First Sunset Shot in Santiago Chile
My first sunset shot in Santiago, Chile, this Tuesday. We transitioned from Chile to Peru and back to Chile after 2 weeks. It was quite an intense two weeks in Peru, and I finally got to relax a bit in Santiago.
It’s hard to explain all the reasons in a few sentences. The fact is that when we arrived at Telefirico of Metropolitan Park, my planned location to photograph sunset, it was already 7:30pm. We were possibly the last one buying the cable car tickets to go up the hill. The last cable car coming down the hill was at 8pm. Sunset was at 7:54pm. I had less than 10 minutes on the hill to figure out my sunset shot.
My ideal composition was to include Constanera Center, the tallest building in South America, but I soon noticed the skyscraper was hiding behind all the bushes. I didn’t have enough time to climb to the top of San Cristobal, the highest point of the park. I had to settle with a different view only 5 minutes walk away from the cable car station, a view with colors.
So here is my perfect and imperfect snapshot of Santiago Chile, in the beautiful golden glow. I did manage to wrap up everything within 5 minutes, and ran back to the cable car just in time to go downhill.
