Our Favorite Hike In St John US Virgin Island

We've finally discovered our favorite spot on St. John in the US Virgin Islands! Yesterday evening, we made our first attempt at the Rams Head Trail but only reached the halfway point before running out of daylight.

This morning, we returned to complete the entire trail. What a difference from the bustling beaches in the northern part of the island—this trail offers tranquility and is an absolute gem.

Nestled at the southeastern tip of the island, this moderate 2.3-mile trail showcases diverse landscapes:

➡️crescent shaped white sand beach

➡️brown swampy salt pond

➡️cobblestone rock beach

➡️ Winding nature trail surrounded by cacti

➡️360 degree ocean and beach view on a peninsula

We're far from expert hikers, and neither are our children. Over the past few days, our toddler has taken quite a few tumbles, including one unfortunate encounter with a cactus (I'll spare you the unpleasant details). Despite these challenges, he completed most of the hike on his own two feet. My secret weapon? The constant promise of "let's throw rocks on the beach." If only all parenting tricks were this effective!

Before visiting St. John, we didn't expect the US Virgin Islands to rival our experiences in the Bahamas. However, this hike, along with all the breathtaking views we've encountered, has completely captivated us. St. John—and the entire US Virgin Islands—has thoroughly won us over!

Check out some unknown facts we learned from our first visit to US Virgin Islands and our Chartered Sale in the Bahamas, a trip that I had no option but to capture entirely with my iPhone and a new drone.
