We visited Antelope Canyon today, wrapping up our 19-day trip to Arizona. Yep the most expensive photo in the history sold for $6.5 million was photographed here.

Everyone has to join a tour, either with online reservation at least 2 weeks in advance, or join at the site. We tried our luck just by showing up, and fortunately there was a tour starting in 5 minutes. So we signed up! The entire tour took about 90 minutes - with a jeep ride 15 min to the canyon entrance, followed by 60 min walk (well, mostly just stop and stare to be precise), and 15 min jeep ride back.

Whenever we took a guided tour, I got the luck! Our tour guide offered to take family photos for us again! Although the two little ones didn’t cooperate, we managed to all fit in the frame. Whew!! What an effort for a photo!

Last but not least, the most iconic photos of the Antelope Canyon, where the beam of sun shines through, can only be taken in the summer. We were told the average tour size would be 140 people in the summer compared to only 20-30 now. I don’t know if I will come back again in the high season just to photograph the sunbeam, I’m already happy with just another family photo!
