You are born with MUSIC in your ears; Children are PURE angels!

I knew my blog wasn't updated these days. No excuses! The fact is that I volunteered to help my friend Yuliya, together with a team of 25 people, on a fundraising campaign for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, since March.

With the busy schedule (a new office, plus two volunteer jobs - one for my alumni board, one for a cancer research charity), I had hardly found time to do anything else. However, in the middle of the campaign, right before Mother's Day, I did manage to squeeze a whole Saturday day workshop with Wayne Dyer, for an in-depth talk about our lives to the highest level of fulfillment, purpose, meaning, and joy.

Nothing from the speech turned out to be really surprising - given the number of spiritual readings I had over the last few years. But somewhere almost toward the tail-end of his talk, I stepped out of the big conference room, when I heard him saying "You are born with music in your ears... Children are pure angels..." For some reason, it suddenly struck me like a lightening, and I remembered standing there, for a long time...

It's been weeks since the Wayne Dyer's workshop, and these two statements have been lingering in my mind, almost like a never-ending song. I wonder, if it has something to do with my choice to be a photographer, particularly about children. I knew I wasn't born in a culture encouraging people to listen to your inner voices all the time, particularly regarding life choices. At least pragmatism comes first, or as least as part of the ideology. If there is ever a time that I was listening to that music I was born with, it is, yes, literally, right now...

The joy I had by photographing the hundreds of children I have got to known since I started professional photography is, simply, bountiful. What could I say? I'm lucky....

Right now I am sitting here, listening to jazz... it's probably not the piece of music I was born with, but I feel content and relaxed, because I know tomorrow there will be more pure angels...
