Happy Warao kids playing lady bugs
I still vividly remember the night I took this picture. Maybe it was the first time these kids have their photos taken, they were so excited jumping around my camera each time I clicked. They lived in very basic conditions along the Orinoco River in Venezuela - open deck wooden bungalows, hammocks, dogs, pigs were what I remembered. This little boy caught a ladybug on his thread and used it as a little "lamp" at night. He showed off his little creation when I took the picture, hopefully that made his day. Sure enough, it made mine!
