Snow Hike in El Chalten Patagonia
We have spent the past 3 days in El Chaltén, a paradise for serious mountaineers, trekkers, and outdoor enthusiasts alike. We didn't set any lofty goals, and simply wanted to be in the heart of Patagonia, to enjoy awe-inspiring mountain scenery, and perhaps a nice hike or two. If I could photograph the tallest peaks of Mt Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, even better!
Our first day was spent on a 9-hour road trip from El Calafate to Lago del Desierto.
The turquoise lake colors along the way looked so unreal that we almost felt like in the Caribbean.
There were spectacular mountain views everywhere.
We were lucky to see Mt. Fitz Roy, although covered by the clouds, from the far distance.
We didn't go anywhere yesterday due to the full-day rain.
Even it snowed today, the sky was blue. We completed our first, and only, 3 hour mountain hike to Mirador del Torre.
It was 3km each way with moderate elevation. Apollo complained big time on the way out, but jumped up and down all the way back after I told him he could get rainbow popsicle, chocolate ice cream, or lollipop in the end of the hike.
Oh well, we both forgot that after the long hike, and he kept saying the hike was so much fun! Kudos to this 4 year old. Mommy is very proud of you.

I have never been a fan of visiting cemetery, but we went to the Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires - twice!
