My Solo Trip To Uruguay

I went on a day trip by myself to Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay today. It's a world heritage site characterized by cobblestone streets and houses built in the Spanish and Portuguese colonial era.
I love it that the little town only has two traffic lights, and rental cars are golf carts.
I bought a walking tour in the last minute. It only last about 1.5 hour till 11:30am. My boat back was at 8pm. That gave me more than 8 hours to wonder around without any plans.
I took a local bus to the beach, and walked all the way back to the ferry terminal. Even that, I had tons of extra time. This is the first (and probably will be the last) bus I’ve taken for this South America trip.
It’s funny generally I was very short of time to photograph sunset, but this day I had to find things to do to kill my time.
Fortunately, the little town was full of charm, so I took snapshots here and there - neither for a tripod assisted landscape scene, nor for my fast moving little ones - the type of snapshots I don’t do often on a DSLR for a long time. And I really enjoyed it!
Sunset was at 7:30pm, but I had to be at the ferry terminal by 6:30pm to go through the custom, something I didn’t think of when I book the trip.
So the following sunset shot was taken barely at the beginning of the golden hour. Can you see the buildings in the horizon? Those are from Buenos Aires.
It was a 16-hour effort from Buenos Aires, just for a simple landscape shot barely at sunset.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the day by myself, knowing that my husband and the boys would equally enjoy their time of “doing nothing” at home (Airbnb).
