Tango and Cemetery In Buenos Aires

If someone asked me what’s in common between tango and cemetery before we visited Buenos Aires, I’d have no idea.

It turned out those are two major activities, and unique experiences in our first visit to Buenos Aires.

We are getting the taste of Buenos Aires at a slow pace over the past 3 days. Cosmopolitan, rich in culture, are the the first words I'd grab to describe it. We did some half day tour here and there, barely scratching the surface of the history and culture.

Our big highlight was at Plaza Dorrego, where we enjoyed a tango milonga, a very loud samba marching band, as well as a beautiful vegan dinner. After several weeks of meat meat meat, just wow!

We also went to the Recoleta Cemetery - twice! I have never been a fan of visiting cemetery, but this is on top of so many recommendation lists. Now I got it! It is unique and beautiful, home to the highly acclaimed first lady Eva Peron.

The rest of the time, we simply rested in our Airbnb in the beautiful Recoleta neighborhood, and couldn't be happier.
